Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A loud explosion occurred early Monday morning on the rooftop of a five-storey residential building in Ward Number 4 of Titagarh Municipality. The blast caused the collapse of three to four nearby rooms and also damaged the roof of a neighboring tiled house. The incident took place around 6:40 AM, and no casualties have been reported so far.
Police from Titagarh police station and the bomb squad arrived promptly at the scene to investigate the cause of the explosion. Officials are currently examining whether the blast was caused by a bomb or another source. The affected room where the explosion occurred was reportedly unoccupied at the time of the incident.
Municipal authorities confirmed that two elected representatives reside in the building. Promoter Anil Kumar Gupta stated that the room involved in the explosion had been taken over during election time by Ward 4 councillor Mohammad Riaz Uddin, also known as Arman Mondal, for election-related activities, and that the councillor never returned the key afterward. Authorities continue to investigate the incident thoroughly.
